Gaelic Voices For Change Raise €3,090 for the Cork Simon Community | 16/12/2017
On the night of the 16th of December, volunteers for Gaelic Voices For Change, formed by the Gaelic Players Association, organised sleep-ins in public locations around Ireland to raise funds and awareness for the deepening homelessness crisis. On the steps of the courthouse on Washington Street, €3,090 was raised for the Cork Simon Community. Irish Radio International chatted to Ronan Conway and Sarah Houlihan about their efforts.
The members of GVFC and the GPA and WGPAset a great example for us all this Christmas. If you would like to support Gaelic Voices For Change in their efforts and make a donation, please visit - https://www.gaelicvoicesforchange.com/ Any and all support is greatly appreciated.

Christina May, Síofra & Laura Mulcahy @ The Friary, August 2017 | IRI Monthly Music Showcase
The final event of its run, August’s Monthly Music Showcase took a more intimate, stripped back setting following the Poor Relation event in July; this time, we went upstairs at The Friary on Shandon Street, at the bottom of the hill where our little station is located. The Friary is a great source of off-the-beaten-path music and entertainment thanks to Mike and Élise, the latter of whom has since moved on to newer pastures; everyone here at IRI is very grateful for their hosting on the night.

Many thanks to Simon Brown, the manager of the Brass Monkey, to our amazingly talented musicians on the night, and to all of you for coming along on the night.
